Job Description : - We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Lead 3D Artist to be part of the Playmotion Team. If you have a passion for video games and want to work in a friendly environment, come join our team - As a member of a multidisciplinary development team, the Lead Artist will collaborate with the Studio to establish artistic goals for a given project. The candidate will be in charge of following the art teams work and validate production outcomes while overseeing part of the development of the game. Responsibilities : - Expertise in Maya, 3ds Max or other equivalent 3D software.
-Skilled in modelling high poly & Low poly characters to the required standard and level of detail which also involves creating UV maps with a good layout, use of space and minimal texture distortion, producing normal maps and surface bakes and creating textures to the appropriate style and standard.
-Should be able to translate from other file formats, or to take raw data to create 3D renderings.
-Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact with team members of different disciplines.
-Should be able to work alone or as part of a team.
-Good positive attitude and outlook and willing to learn.
-Strong English is written and verbal communication skills. Desirable & Experience : - 2 to 4 years of experience in a Lead Artist role in the videogames industry.
-Ability to work in a team, with good leadership skills and to delegate work accordingly.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members of different departments.
-Excellent 2D drawing and painting skills are a plus.
-Training from an art school or training in 3D/2D animation program is a plus.
-Ability to conceptualize design storyboard is an added advantage.
-Programming and action scripting knowledge related to 3D and interactive media is a plus.
-Presentable and sensibility in the design and aesthetics of art will be advantages to candidates. Desired skills and experience : - Strong modelling, UVing and texturing skills required.
-Good knowledge of 3Ds Max, Zbrush, Photoshop.
-Working knowledge of normal mapping and the different methods of creating them is preferred.
-Knowledge of the technical constraints relating to real-time, the 3D engines, and level editors.
-Ability to work on different artistic styles.
-Willingness to observe, absorb and modify own work based on many avenues of artistic criticism.
