Job Description
An Associate Electrical Supervisor would typically be an entry-level or mid-level position within the electrical supervision field. They would assist experienced supervisors with tasks such as planning, scheduling, and overseeing electrical installations, while also potentially assisting with maintenance and troubleshooting.&
Assisting with Project Planning and Scheduling: Associate supervisors would help plan and schedule electrical projects, estimating materials and timelines.&
Supervising Electricians: They would guide and supervise the work of electricians, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.&
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: They would assist in identifying and resolving electrical issues that arise during projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Supervision and Execution
- Assist in supervising day-to-day electrical work at construction or industrial sites.
- Coordinate the installation of wiring systems, switchboards, transformers, lighting, control panels, and other electrical components.
- Ensure that all work is carried out as per technical drawings, safety codes, and company guidelines.
- Monitor site conditions to ensure proper implementation of electrical layouts and circuits.
2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Help monitor and maintain electrical systems and equipment for proper functioning.
- Assist in diagnosing electrical faults and carrying out necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Perform regular inspections to prevent potential hazards and minimize downtime.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
3. Quality Control and Compliance
- Ensure that all electrical work complies with applicable electrical codes (e.g., IEC, NEC, local standards).
- Conduct basic tests and inspections on installed electrical systems and document findings.
- Report any deviations from design or specifications to the senior supervisor or project engineer.
- Support in maintaining a safe work environment by enforcing electrical safety practices.
4. Coordination and Teamwork
- Coordinate with electricians, helpers, contractors, and other site personnel to ensure tasks are completed as planned.
- Provide technical assistance and clarify instructions to on-site teams.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and material requirements to the Electrical Supervisor or Project Manager.
- Work closely with other departments such as civil, mechanical, and instrumentation to ensure integration of electrical systems.
5. Material and Equipment Management
- Monitor the availability and usage of electrical materials, tools, and safety gear on-site.
- Assist in tracking material consumption and ensuring timely requisition and delivery.
- Verify the quality and specification of received electrical materials before installation.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of tools and equipment.
6. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of electrical work, manpower deployment, material usage, and site inspections.
