Required Boiler Operator - Eluru

Key Responsibilities:

1. Boiler Operation and Monitoring

• Start, operate, and shut down steam boilers , heaters, and associated equipment as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor steam pressure, temperature, feedwater levels, fuel supply , and air intake using control systems, gauges, and sensors.
• Adjust valves, burners, and feed pumps to regulate steam output and maintain optimum efficiency.
• Check for leaks, abnormal noises, vibrations , and report unusual conditions immediately.

2. Routine Maintenance and Inspections

• Perform routine checks and minor maintenance activities on boilers, feed pumps, valves, burners, safety devices, and control panels.
• Clean boiler tubes, check and clean burners, inspect flue gas outlets, and maintain proper blowdown schedules.
• Assist maintenance technicians during major repairs, overhauls, or tube replacements.
• Maintain proper lubrication of all moving parts related to boiler and auxiliary systems.

3. Safety and Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to safety standards , personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols, and plant safety guidelines.
• Operate boilers in compliance with Boiler Act , Factories Act , and local regulatory norms .
• Regularly test safety devices including pressure relief valves, low-water cutoffs, and emergency shutoff systems.
• Maintain proper documentation of operational logs, safety checks, breakdowns, and corrective actions.

4. Record Keeping and Reporting

• Maintain detailed daily logbooks of boiler operations including pressure readings, fuel consumption, maintenance activities, and abnormalities.
• Submit regular reports to the maintenance or shift supervisor regarding boiler efficiency, incidents, or repair requirements.
• Maintain fuel and water usage logs, and help in tracking boiler performance and cost metrics.

5. Coordination and Communication

• Coordinate with the production team to ensure consistent steam supply according to process demand.
• Work with maintenance and instrumentation teams to resolve technical issues and calibrate controls or meters.
• Report equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or maintenance needs promptly.

6. Emergency Handling

• Respond quickly and efficiently in emergency situations such as pressure surges, flame failures, water level drops, or fuel supply interruptions.
• Follow established emergency shutdown procedures and coordinate with firefighting or emergency response teams if needed.
