Job Description
The Tele Collection Officer will be responsible for engaging with borrowers to resolve delinquent retail loan accounts. The role requires effective communication, negotiation skills, and the ability to handle sensitive financial discussions while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.Responsibilities:Portfolio Management- Manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts and understand each case by reviewing repayment history and documentation.- Determine appropriate recovery strategies based on account analysis.Customer Engagement & Recovery- Contact borrowers via calls, emails, or written communication to discuss outstanding dues.- Negotiate repayment plans and encourage borrowers to meet financial obligations.- Clearly explain the implications of continued non-payment.Issue Resolution & Escalations- Identify obstacles to recovery and develop practical solutions.- Collaborate with internal teams, including legal/collections, for escalations or alternative recovery options.- Address customer concerns and queries professionally, ensuring accurate information and timely resolution.Documentation & Reporting- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all customer interactions and actions takenEducation, Experience & Skillset:- Bachelor s/Master s degree, preferably in Commerce.- 0-2 years of experience in Service/Banking/NBFC preferred; freshers with strong communication and negotiation skills may also apply.- Experience in outbound calling for collections, customer support, or follow-ups is desirable.- Proficiency with customer support tools, databases, spreadsheets, and related applications.- Strong verbal communication skills in Hindi and English, along with one regional language (Telugu/Tamil/Kannada/Malayalam).- Basic understanding of loan terms and regulatory guidelines.Other Competencies:- Strong listening ability and empathetic communication style.- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking.- Problem-solving aptitude with strong negotiation skills.- Proactive mindset with a strong bias for action.
