Your main responsibility is to use SolidWorks CAD software to develop, design, and detail big assemblies, intricate mechanisms, and sturdy mechanical parts. As the "Design-to-Production Catalyst," you convert creative industrial designs into precise 3D parametric models and 2D engineering drawings that are ready for manufacturing. The ideal applicant is a practical mechanical designer who is fully conversant with parametric configurations, sheet metal structures, and advanced geometric tolerancing, and who has a thorough awareness of raw material behaviors, fabrications, and assembly line constraints. Key Skills: Expert-level proficiency with the fundamental SolidWorks modules, such as Weldments, Sheet Metal, Surfacing, Assemblies, Drawings, and Toolbox integrations, is known as SolidWorks Platform Mastery. GD&T Callout Fluency: Apply the proper feature controls to minimize production scrap by having a thorough, practical understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing regulations. PDM Data Architecture: Excellent operational experience managing assembly dependencies, tracking versions, and checking in and out files using SolidWorks PDM or other PLM systems. Fabrication Insight: Robust mechanical knowledge of actual workshop operations, such as robotic welding, laser cutting, VMC machining, and stamping press settings. Tolerance Stack-up Calculation: To ensure smooth mating fits across stacked assembly configurations, one must be able to manually execute simple linear 1D tolerance stack-up loops.
