Build Your Finance Career Accountant Role Job Description Duties: General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure that structural spending, revenues, assets, and liabilities are distributed accurately by reviewing, approving, and posting daily journal entries. Accounts Payable & Receivable Control: Track aging accounts receivable lines, process incoming supplier bills, cross-check purchase orders against delivery notes, and arrange prompt collections. Bank and Ledger Reconciliation: To clear balances, reconcile corporate bank accounts, credit card statements, intercompany balances, and vendor ledgers on a weekly and monthly basis. Statutory Tax Compilation & Filing: Determine and compile your monthly statutory tax responsibilities, such as corporate sales tax parameters, tax deducted at source, and goods and services tax. Financial Statement Preparation: Help the finance manager create balance sheet schedules, profit and loss (P&L) statements, and monthly trial balances. Fixed Asset & Depreciation Accounting: Process asset sales, keep track of capital expenditures (CapEx), update the fixed asset register, and compute monthly depreciation schedules. Payroll Accounting Integration: Ensure proper bookkeeping of salaries, incentives, and regulatory deductions by reconciling monthly payroll registers received from Human Resources. Focus Skills: Accounting ERP & Core Software Mastery: Practical experience using the main accounting software programs. Advanced Spreadsheet Agility: Excellent operational skills with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize data using conditional formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data cleaning filters. Tax Code & Compliance Literacy: A practical grasp of regional tax systems, corporate accounting standards, TDS deduction slabs, and compliance filing schedules. Mathematical Precision & Analytical Focus: Quickly identify ledger imbalances or missing transaction data thanks to exceptional numerical correctness and a keen eye for detail.
