Build & Assemble ITI Fitter Role Job Description Our manufacturing shop floor 's "Mechanical Assembly Craftsman " and "Precision Alignment Authority " is the ITI Fitter. Assembling, fitting, aligning, and repairing mechanical parts, subassemblies, and industrial machinery in accordance with technical engineering drawings is your main responsibility. You carry out precision bench operations, such as marking, filing, sawing, drilling, and thread tapping, in your capacity as the "Zero-Tolerance Structural Guardian, " to guarantee that mating parts interlock perfectly with the right clearances. In order to ensure reliable machinery operation, the ideal applicant is a highly disciplined, safety-first mechanical specialist who combines excellent physical dexterity with a practical understanding of machine tolerances, pneumatic couplings, and structural assembly stages. Responsibilities Precision Bench Work & Fitting: Use hand tools to perform manual shaping and fitting operations on raw metal blanks. This includes careful filing, scraping, chiseling, and sawing to bring items to precise dimensional blueprints. Mechanical Component Assembly: Install large industrial bearings, drive shafts, industrial gears, pulleys, keys, and connection networks, among other complex mechanical systems. Blueprint and Layout Engineering: Examine and decipher structural mechanical drawings, then use scribers, punch sets, dividers, and surface gauges to apply engineering markings to raw metal plates before cutting. Drilling, Reaming, and Tapping Operations: To generate precise fastening holes, set up and run shop floor equipment such as pillar drilling machines, hand reamers, and thread-tapping dies. Machine alignment and levelling: To avoid vibration or wear, position, level, and align recently delivered plant machinery utilizing dial test indicators, spirit levels, plumb bobs, and feeler gauges. Skills: Advanced Mechanical Hand Tool Mastery: Total physical agility and proficiency with fundamental mechanical workshop equipment, including scrapers, torque wrenches, hacksaws, engineering files, and tap handles. Precision Metrology Bench Literacy: The ability to examine dimensional s by hand using common workshop tools, such as feeler strips, dial test gauges, digital vernier calipers, external/internal micrometers, and thread pitches. Strong comprehension of mechanical layout drawings, reading projection angles, part symbols, and fundamental engineering limitations, fittings, and clearance tolerances are all examples of blueprint reading and limits literacy. Basic Shop Machine Operation: The capacity to operate localized production equipment, such as drill presses, manual band saws, and industrial pedestal grinders, safely.
