Machine Maintenance Engineer Machine Troubleshooting Job Description The "Electro-Hydraulic Specialist" and "Machinery Continuity Architect" of our plastic injection molding facility is the Machine Maintenance Engineer. Optimizing the uptime, operational dependability, and structural integrity of all heavy-tonnage injection molding machines and their associated linear robots is your main goal. As the "Zero-Downtime Equipment Guardian," you assume direct, hands-on responsibility for carrying out workflows for preventive, predictive, and emergency breakdown maintenance in complex hydraulic circuits, proportional valve networks, high-power heating zones, and programmable logic controller (PLC) systems. Managing serious manufacturing risks such as catastrophic hydraulic pump seizures, barrel screw wear, clamping toggle breakages, electrical cabinet fires, and abrupt line pauses that disrupt delivery metrics, this position sits at the absolute baseline of plant throughput. Responsibilities: Preventive and Predictive Upkeep Governance: Ensure accurate machine calibration and wear tracking by carrying out planned preventive maintenance checklists on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for all injection molding assets. Electro-Hydraulic Breakdown Diagnosis: During machine stoppages, oversee quick emergency troubleshooting teams that identify and fix problems with directional valves, proportional flow valves, hydraulic pumps, and high-pressure sealing rings. PLCTroubleshooting & SensorCalibration: To examine logic problems, reset configurations, and calibrate linear position transducers, proximity sensors, and thermocouples, directly connect diagnostic interfaces to machine microcontrollers. Mechanical Structure & ToggleOverhauling: Rebuild, align, and maintain vital mechanical subassemblies such as ejector backplates, tie bars, toggle clamping links, and injection screw-and-barrel units. Heating Zone & Electrical Panel Auditing: Track balancing phases to prevent electrical spikes and keep an eye on and improve barrel induction heating loops, solid-state relays, power contactors, and variable frequency drives. Skills: Advanced Fluid Power & Hydraulic Schematic Literacy: Perfect ability to decipher intricate multi-stage hydraulic schematics, monitoring pilot pressures, accumulator charge statuses, and oil flow paths down to component level. Industrial Automation & Electrical Diagnostic Fluency: Complete comfort reading industrial electrical cabinet diagrams; proficiency troubleshooting machine control circuits with digital multimeters, clamp meters, and meggers. Barrel & Screw Metrology Precision: Skilled in using dial bore gauges and inside/outside micrometers to assess tolerances on high-precision mechanical fittings down to micron levels. Deep operational knowledge of core injection molding machine interfaces, particularly those of Engel, KraussMaffei, Husky, Arburg, Toshiba, or Haitian platform logic, is known as machine brand native software literacy.
