PED Engineer Cost Reduction & Design Improvement Job Description: Responsibilities: Process Design & Station Layout Optimization: To reduce material transit distance and remove physical bottlenecks, design and optimize floor plans and sequential assembly processes using specialized layout tools. Cycle Time & Motion Analysis: To attain ideal line balance and shorten cycle times, conduct thorough time and motion studies across workstations, examining operator kinematics and equipment cycles. Resource Planning and Capacity Forecasting: To guarantee that manufacturing blocks operate profitably, compute baseline equipment and labor levels based on monthly customer delivery predictions. Introducing a New Product Proofing: Oversee Design for Manufacturing assessments in conjunction with product development teams, spotting possible fabrication obstacles with relation to wall thicknesses, draft angles, or component tolerances early on. Process Validation & Trial Monitoring: Establish operating parameter baselines, approve formal equipment validation logs, and supervise pilot manufacturing runs, tool testing, and pre-production trials.
