Executive Summary : With 15 years of experience, you will be the first and the last port of call for all software engineering related work at Phonon. This will span across telecom software in Asterisk, J2EE, Angular / Node and Django / Python-based applications. You will lead a team of 20 engineers (and growing) to deliver our core applications and architect/scrum master the product development of Phonon 2.0. Job Description : Your daily routine will consist of : 1. Reaching office with a clear mind-map of the architecture of existing solutions/priorities, the vision of new product architecture and goals to be achieved by the engineering team. 2. Managing work delivery of implementations, change requests/bug/ issue management and new product development sprints. 3. Providing architectural guidance for customer CRs and integration requirements. 4. Implementing the architecture into well-defined roadmap items, integration documents, execution plans and ensuring execution of the architecture. 5. Coordinating / mentoring / solution approaching with team leads / individual team members to ensure correct triaging, delivery and development as per good coding practices. 6. Operational/administrative management of the software engineering and infrastructure teams. Your weekly tasks will consist of: 1. Tracking all bugs, change requests and scrum items are closed by as per weekly plan and priorities for subsequent week are set. 2. Being the Scrum Master cum Impediment Manager for all teams Core or New Product Development. 3. Visioning, implementing and bringing in kaizen improvements on the Architecture. Ensuring the Technical Architecture of the company well supports the development vision of the company. 4. Managing the team to ensure right-skilling of team members, accurate and motivated work delivery and developing the team structure as per the growth plans. Your monthly tasks will consist of : 1. Interactions with Managing Director and HoD / Sales to sync software engineering and operational delivery with organizational goals, discuss impediments in processes and suggest progressive action for more seamless delivery. 2. Evaluating the monthly progress of Software Engineering and Technical Architecture in line with the companys growth requirements. Above all, you will be a hands-on code master with the ability to break business requirements into the correct technological and architectural implementation, with a process mindset and capabilities that ensure the leadership of the Software Engineering department. Candidate Profile : As VP of Software Engineering, you should have the following skill sets : 1. At least a bachelors degree in engineering from a reputed computer/electronics engineering college (IITs, RECs, Good Government Colleges). A relevant mast 2. With 15 years of experience in software engineering with stability in employment. 3. Hands-on experience in Technical Architecture, Team Leading and Software Development with great scripting and architecting skills 4. Exposure including hands-on work on projects across (i) Asterisk, MEAN stack, J2EE, Apache/NGINIX, Python / Django (ii) Experience on AI/ML Technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud, dialog flow, IBM Watson, (iii)ML algorithms and Bots will be a great plus. 5. You should have a PRINCE2 Agile or Certified ScrumMaster certification. 6. Good logical and documentation capabilities with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
