We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Storage Object Engineering Lead/ Associate Director, Software Engineering
In this role, you will:

:Lead the Object Storage Engineering team responsible for building, automating, and evolving HSBC 's enterprise:scale object and archive storage platforms.
:Set the technical direction and delivery roadmap, working closely with product owners and senior stakeholders in CTO and application teams.
:Oversee the design and implementation of automation pipelines (e.g. Ansible, CI/CD), observability frameworks, and production:grade engineering solutions.
:Drive innovation and evaluate emerging storage technologies to enhance platform performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
:Ensure engineering standards, documentation, and onboarding processes are in place and continuously improved.
:Manage capacity planning, compliance, risks, and financial control across global deployments.
:Guide and mentor team members, fostering a culture of learning, ownership, and cross:regional collaboration.
:Act as a senior representative of Object Storage within HSBC 's Storage Platform, supporting platform strategy and transformation initiatives.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements

:Bachelor 's degree (or demonstrable experience) in Information Technology.
:12 Years minimum experience in IT including 5 years in a team leadership or managerial role.
:Proven leadership experience managing global infrastructure engineering teams and delivering enterprise:scale object storage solutions.
:Deep expertise in platforms such as Dell EMC ECS, NetApp StorageGRID, Veritas Enterprise Vault, OpenText InfoArchive, VAST, or similar.
:Hands:on experience with automation (e.g. Ansible, Python), observability (e.g. Splunk), and CI/CD pipelines.
:Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure, and hybrid storage architectures is an advantage.
:Strong understanding of Agile practices, risk and compliance, and change management in a regulated environment.
:Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
:Ability to lead through influence, foster inclusive team culture, and drive continuous improvement.
