While Chief Financial Officers (CFOs), Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Directors, and Billing Managers set macro financial strategies, fee schedules, payer contracting policies, and overall collections targets, your main responsibility is to keep an eye on unpaid insurance and patient claims, look into underpaid or unpaid accounts, file successful appeals, address claim denials, and speed up cash flow. Serving as the "Guardian of Claims Resolution, Insurance Compliance, Ageing AR Reduction, and Revenue Integrity," you assume direct responsibility for obtaining rightful medical payments from both government and private payers. Key Skills: Medical Billing & Claims Resolution Mastery: Comprehensive understanding of CMS-1500 and UB-04 claim forms, EOB/ERA interpretation, CARC/RARC denial reason codes, and end-to-end Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). Coding and Documentation Knowledge: Strong grasp of medical necessity rules, modifier applications, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding systems. Payer Portal & Clearinghouse Proficiency: Practical knowledge in using clearinghouse systems (Waystar, Change Healthcare, Trizetto) and insurance web portals (Availity, Optum, Medicare/Medicaid portals). Analytical Problem-Solving & Appeal Writing: Excellent capacity to look into claim denials, spot patterns, draft formal appeals, and work with payer representatives to modify claims.
